Description

The Sun on February 16, 2024 - left smooth, right rough

Despite very extensive veil clouds (lat. cirrus), the seeing is relatively good today, significantly better than yesterday.

Tip:  Compare with the Sun's previous day's appearance!

Once again, it strikes me how much the view of the Sun can change in the visual spectrum within a day: Today, what is particularly noticeable are the extensive flare areas near the right edge of the Sun - peppered with numerous tiny Sunspots - while the same latitudes in the equatorial region are nearby of the left (western) edge of the sun appear almost smooth.

I love heaven -
and heaven loves me.
